Frequently Asked Questions

General

Do you take cases in other counties?

We primarily serve clients with cases in the Franklin County and Gasconade County areas.
If you need representation outside of these areas, you may contact our office with your request. Decisions are made on a case-by-case basis and there is no guarantee of acceptance.

Do I need an appointment to pick-up or drop-off paperwork?

No, but you do need to call ahead and let us know when you’ll be coming.

Fees

Do you have a consultation fee? If so, why and how much?

Yes, we do, and here’s why:

The “product” that a law firm provides to its clients is an attorney’s time and advice. And, while it’s not a tangible product, it is highly valuable.

Legal issues are stressful – especially if you’ve never faced one before! – and we know how important this is to you. That’s why, even at the initial consultation phase, we strive to provide what is most needed: Time, information, and sound advice.

The Consultation Fee is $250 and covers approximately one hour of dedicated time with the attorney, as well as the time for our staff to prepare a file and complete all of the documents required prior to your appointment.

However, if your case is accepted and you choose to retain our services within thirty (30) days of your consultation, the $250 fee will be credited to your account when your case is closed.

What do you charge to fix a traffic ticket?

For simple traffic matters, those not including accidents/C&I, DWR, or DWI, no consultation is required and we charge a flat fee of $200 per ticket. Please note that this fee ONLY covers our legal services. Clients are still financially responsible for paying any and all related court costs, fines, and/or fees.

If multiple citations were received in connection with the same incident, we generally offer a discount on the additional tickets.

What are your retainer fees? What do they cover?

Retainer fees vary, depending on the type of case, the circumstances involved, and the level of complexity. For some matters, we’re able to offer a “flat fee” retainer, which covers basic necessary legal work for non-contested cases. Please contact our office for more information.

In all cases, the retainer fee ONLY covers the services that the firm provides. Clients are still financially responsible for paying all court costs and fees, as well as any and all additional expenses related to their cases.

Do all cases require a retainer?

Generally, yes. The amount varies based on the type and complexity of the matter. Since every case is different, the specific fees are determined based on each individual case.

For some simpler types of cases, we may bill hourly without requiring a significant retainer. In simple traffic matters, we charge a flat fee. We’ll be able to provide more information when we know more about your specific case.

However, clients are still financially responsible for paying all court costs and fees, as well as any and all additional expenses related to their cases. Please contact our office for more information.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept all forms of payment:

  • Cash

  • Debit Card

  • Credit Card

  • Personal Check

  • Electronic Check

  • Cashiers Check

  • Money Order

I can’t afford the full retainer right now. Can I make payments?

We understand! That’s why we’ve teamed up with LawPay to offer our clients a financing option.

After your consultation, if your case is accepted and you choose to retain us, we will be happy to provide you with more details.
